ARTIST PROFILE

A Visual Journey

Hey there! I'm Maryam Suleiman. Art is my everything, and I'm always on the lookout for new ways to express myself. One of my favorite artistic endeavors is drawing mandalas, and let me tell you, it's not just about making pretty designs.

Drawing mandalas has this incredible meditative effect that soothes my soul. It's like a relaxing therapy session, especially when I dive into the world of complex geometry. But it's not just about the calming vibes, my friends. Mandalas actually help me grow as a person.

You see, when I'm in the zone, creating these unique designs, I enter a whole new state of mind. It's like I'm floating in alpha waves, which makes it easier for me to learn new things and break old habits. It's mind-blowing!

And guess what? My journey with mandalas led me to discover the fascinating world of Islamic Art. I started working with geometric patterns, combining and intertwining them to create something truly special. Islamic art is all about repetition and complexity, which allows for infinite growth and the incorporation of other beautiful ornaments.

It's funny because many people have compared my mandalas to Persian intricate artworks. And you know what? My ancestral roots trace back to the Balochi tribe in Iran, who are closely related to the Persians. I'm still unraveling my Persian ancestry, but maybe, just maybe, my passion for painting intricate mandalas is a tribute to my Balochi heritage.

So there you have it! Art is my life, mandalas are my zen, and Islamic art has opened up a whole new world of creativity for me. Who knows what artistic adventures await me next? Stay tuned!
